Very cute breakfast place. The food is very delicious. I recommend the egg Benedict with crab meat and salmon on a toasted bagel. So good. The only down side they don't have alcohol. But you can probably come with your own.

My experience at Café Conti was superb! I had the Sheimp and Grits for lunch and the flavor was out of this world! So delicious! Our waiter, Claude, was charming and attentive! My coffee mug never went dry and at the same time he gave us a certain much valued space! The staff overall was great, but Claude stood out as being particularly pleasant: a real pro! Amazing food and a lovely experience! Thanks Claude!!!

Somewhat limited menu, basically egg dishes, a couple sides and several crepe options. Got the Benedict of the day: mushroom spinach on a croissant. It was awesome. The only downside was that it wasn't fresh spinach, it was piled high with a ton of creamy spinach dip. Not to say it wasn't delicious, it was just really heavy. The croissant was grilled perfectly, the eggs were poached perfectly and the textures made for a perfect combo. Service was good, coffee was just right. Only downside is that I got the potatoes as my side. The we're grilled in a little olive oil, but not seasoned at all. Pretty bland. Great little cafe.

This looks like a normal 'café inside a hotel' coffee shop, but one look at the menu taped on the front door of this cozy café convinced us to try it out. We started with cappuccinos, which were fantastic and very well made. Our group of three ordered the Lox and Bagel, Breakfast Po-Boy, Benedict of the Day, and I ordered the Bacon, Scallion, Brie and Apricot jam Crepe. Everyone was pleased with their food, and my crepe was the highlight. I would have never put together that combination of ingredients for a crepe, but it was a sublime balance of sweet and salty. I will surely be trying to replicate these at home. The service was very friendly, but I wouldn't recommend stopping in if you are in a hurry to get out of town. While this doesn't make it a quick to-go spot, it also means the crepes and the rest of the food are fresh - not sitting under a heating lamp. You won't want go get food to-go though, because the décor is very charming with a large gilded fireplace and cute antiques and artwork. It is a little hidden in the driveway to the Prince Conti Hotel, but I would absolutely recommend seeking out this little café.

I was staying at the Prince Conti Hotel with my mom and her friends. Cafe Conti is located just across the drive way so we ate there 3 different times during our trip. I'd say this was out of convince but to be honest the place is just that good. The atmosphere is so cute and French feeling. The staff was friendly but I wouldn't recommend this place if you're in a rush. On my first visit I had the Benedict of The Day which was basil, ham, and mushrooms with a side of grits. Their Benedicts are served on a baguette and are delicious. The second time I had food here my mom brought me a savory crepe filled with bri, bacon, green onions and apricot jam. Mm mm it was good! On the last day I got the Croque Madame and wow! So decadent and yummy. Their coffee was awesome as well. The only bad thing I had to say is their ice tea was sort of sour tasting (maybe instant??). Do yourself a favor and give it a try. You won't be disappointed!

Breakfast was wonderful. Nutella and bacon in a crepe is a wonderful mix of sweet and savory. Very good coffee as well. Not a lot of seating so come early

This Cafe is across from the Prince Conti Hotel using the same driveway. The morning we left, we decided to run in here and get a little bite to eat until we stopped for food on our journey. This is a really cute little cafe! I enjoyed checking out the decor while we waited for our to-go order. It has graphic red and white printed art & what appears to be matching printed valances, and a huge cool looking framed picture on the wall above a fireplace. Don't come here if you are in a rush. The service was really slow. It took much longer to get our two crepes to-go than it should have! The girl who took our order was rather put off that we showed up. She really didn't want to be there and it was quite apparent. Not a great way for customers to be treated first thing in the morning, or ever!! We ordered a sweet crepe with Hazelnut Spread & Banana slices for my daughter and she said it was too sweet and didn't finish it. I believe it was an okay crepe since she didn't say anything else about it. I got the Spinach, Bacon and Egg Crepe and I did NOT like it at all. I think it was the creamed spinach that was kind of gooey that I didn't like. I can't really explain it very well, but maybe it wasn't fresh and it was very unappetizing. Basically, I ate the egg and bacon with a little bit of the crepe. I felt bad wasting the rest, but I just couldn't eat it! I wouldn't order what I ordered again! With the slow service to the not so great food, I will eat elsewhere. This wasn't a cheap breakfast, either! I'm so sorry, but from my experience, it seems like I am just about the only reviewer to disagree with the majority of Yelpers!

This place is very quiet and quaint. It is well decorated with a classic French feel to it. The staff is very friendly and will tell you what's popular, but haven't personally tried the items on the menu. Boo! My water glass was never empty and they have a great selection of sweet and savory crêpes, as well as brunch items, salads and sides. They are reasonably priced, with the Shrimp and grits being the most expensive thing at $14. I got the bacon, brie, scallions and apricot crêpe. The food came out in a timely manner and was rather tasty. My wife got the mixed berries and crème anglaise crêpes and they were delicious as well. I would come back here.

FAIRLY UNDISCOVERED BREAKFAST SPOT 20 months later and this quaint cafe nestled inside the Quarter's Prince Conti Hotel still fills a niche with affordable French inspired classics in a quiet cozy atmosphere. The under $12 menu sports a dozen or so sweet and savory crepes, breakfast sandwiches and eggs Benedict - the daily special. BUT THERE ARE NO PLATTERS! All sides come ala carte, and those can get pricy (I.e a bowl of fruit is $7; so with with ham & swiss crepes the meal totals a whopping $18!) HOW IT DIFFERS FROM TOP QUARTER COMPETITORS: It's not cavernous and crowded like Ruby Slipper, not as cramped as DeVille, not exposed to the elements like Café Beignet, has full hot meals unlike Croissant D'Or, less frenetic than Jimmy Js or Fleur de Lis, isn't a communal diner like Camelia Grill, and is about 75% cheaper than Criolo. In short, it's a good place to to relax and read the paper or plan out a day of sight seeing while not stressing your budget.

What a great quaint French style cafe ,Claude was great host we had the eggs Benedict , omelet of the day ,crepes Carmel and bananas and grits and shrimp ,wow all plates were on point orange juice was a little pricey at 5.00 each but it was fresh squeezed all being said please take the time to visit the food is out of this world .

  • Brandi L.

We thoroughly enjoyed the crepes. I had the mixed berry and my husband had the bacon one the were both way more than what I was expecting out of this little cafe!

Very good food and great service I would definitely have the crepes the Crab Brie and garlic basciamel was amazing

  • Jesse T.

First of all, get the Café Americano. That will kickstart your morning. Crepes are delicious and full of whatever filling they tell you. The one with garlic, bacon and cheese is awesome, as is the one with spinach, cheese and bacon. We even had some of the berry filled ones, and the chocolate and strawberry ones. Just great. The American and European Brunch options are good as well, and the house coffee is decent. I like the different kinds of music the manager plays on her iPad. Cool Parisian vibe because of this, and the architecture and decor. Very nice and laid back. A great way to start your day, and right across the garage entrance from the Hotel Prince Conti. Note: This is not a "to go" food place. If you're in a hurry, go to McDonald's or something.

  • Justin N.

Very impressed! Took me awhile to find this place because it shares a building with the hotel Conti. I ordered the breakfast poboy and it was delicious. The bread was fresh and the sausage was cooked perfectly. I ordered the grits as my side. They were very thick, but had great flavor. The server was also very nice and checked in on my table several times. Would definitely go back!

This intimate breakfast/brunch spot is located inside the Prince Conti hotel. So they obviously get a new crowd of potential customers every day. This could lead them to rely on that new customer and let their standards slide, but I'm happy to report the food and service is outstanding and keeps people coming back every day of their stay. The coffee drinks are hand crafted with pride but no delays. The breakfast options include somewhat exotic crepes and Benedicts. I especially enjoyed the crab eggs Benedict that was piled high with delicious meat over a croissant. The next day I enjoyed a breakfast sandwich with ham and swiss so large I could not finish it. From 8-9 the place is packed to the gills but other times it is quiet and peaceful.

  • Ardie M.

Another awesome joint! Though the place is small, it was totally worth it. Lucky for us, we got there fairly early and didn't have to wait. I got their breakfast special of the day, which was Brie Apple bacon on a croissant. And man that shit was deeeeeeelicious!! Highly recommend this place as well.

The food here was great. Tucked away location. Good service. All 3 of us loved our dishes. Coffee was excellent as well. Nothing bad to say about this place other than it's a tiny location.

Enjoyed our breakfast here. My omelet of the day-- mushroom and Swiss was delicious as were the breakfast potatoes. The grits and bacon were perfect. Our waiter was understanding of my GF needs.

So when you're in NOLA...Yelp can often lead you a stray. So many people come to town with the Bourbon Street experience in mind, fall into the tourist traps and give generous rating to mediocre experiences. With that said...it works out. The tourist fly paper allows a locals experience to thrive side by side. Cafe Conti has incredible breakfast. I had the special benedict...amazing, devoured before I could snap a photo. PS...no wait at 10AM on Saturday. Get some!!!

Their coffees are delicious! Berries and creme anglaise crepe was good, didnt expect to taste jelly jam in the middle. The chicken hash was reaaally good!

In one word FANTASTIC! I am glad I read the reviews, and we decided to come over. Our first time in NOLA and we were looking for a quiet place to have breakfast...we found it! The place it's small but very nicely decorated, music playing in the background but not loud at all! Food: I had the Benedict of the day, cheddar cheese biscuit topped with green fried tomatoes, caramelized onions, bacon, shallots and poached eggs all smothered in a spicy hollandaise sauce. Superb! My husband had the European breakfast: grilled ham, Brie cheese and baguette toasted with a bowl of fresh fruit! Very good Coffee was good I prefer my coffee really hot it was on the lukewarm I highly recommend this place! Very good place

  • Eileen M.

After reading reviews, I was excited to check this place out. I ordered the apple, cinnamon, and almond crepes. I was disappointed when they can out though because it wasn't real apples, but Apple sauce. It just tasted like crepes with Apple sauce and almonds. My mother had the cranberry muffin which I thought tasted kind of average. My father on the other hand had the egg Benedict special. I tasted it and it was very good. I could tasted the toasted bread, egg, hollandaise sauce, sautéed tomatoes, and spinach. A job well done on that dish!

I stayed at the Prince Conti Hotel when I was in New Orleans. This little cafe is a great addition to the hotel. The coffee is excellent. We had the same server both times we went, and she was very friendly. The first time we went, I had the Benedict of the Day. Instead of a bread base, the base was a FRIED GRIT CAKE. (you heard me!) The hollandaise was infused with sage. Delicious. The second time we went, we got crepes. I had the nutella and strawberry crepe. My friend got the apple and brie crepe. It was topped with onions. (If you don't like onions, make sure you tell them, because onions were not listed as an ingredient of this dish.) All in all, this was another great stop on our trip.

  • Miss J.

Great food! Only removed one star bc my water cup was a little dirty and the waiter seemed a little snappy. But I loved the food! I finally got a good breakfast without eggs in it! The Brie and grilled ham were the highlights! Good breakfast, but small so go early or expect a little wait.

Amazing fresh food and a staff who cares! Last night, I stayed at the connecting hotel and almost walked by this hotel cafe, thinking I'd head to one of the more well known places. I'm so glad I stopped! Grits bowl with grilled mushrooms and tomatoes.... So yummy! And they warmed my muffin!!!

Excellent especially if you're looking for a hearty breakfast/brunch late in the AM...until 3pm. Super staff...quality, fresh, filling food. Don't BYPASS!

  • Kaye R.

This place is a gem. Sunday morning 09:30 only about 2/3s full. GREAT Benedict, good, strong coffee, pleasant service... and we had table service, not counter as some reviews mentioned. In fact, the menus were already on the vacant tables. Don't stand in line for a mediocre breakfast closer to Decatur, seek this place out. You'll be glad you did.

Cute place, lovely breakfast options, including variety in their omelettes and dish of the day.

  • Jocelyn C.

This place has got fantastic food. I was so pleasantly surprised by how good it was. Portions are certainly substantial, and food is done with a nice balance of flavor and texture. Check out their Benedict of the day. Absolutely fantastic, and I never enjoyed Hollandaise until I ate here. Perfectly poached eggs and great bread bases for it, whether a French baguette or bagel. The ones out friends ate yesterday looked phenomenal too. The rest of the table had massive skillet frittatas today. Service can take a little longer depending on how many people are there but is friendly. Not much for atmosphere, but a great choice tucked a block off Bourbon Street. Make sure you stop by Prince Conti's front desk- they have 10% off coupons on their counter.

Great little breakfast spot!!! I had the salmon bagels & they were great!!! My only issue is they don't serve alcohol which is super weird for New Orleans ... I was really craving a mimosa!!

If you're looking for a place to eat Cheese Grits, I highly recommend to eat at CAFE CONTI where the food was excellent, the service was fast and friendly at a reasonable price.

Had the Benedict of the day, it was delicious. Good prompt service. Their coffee was great too. Small, cozy environment. Will definitely be back again for breakfast to try some of their other food.

Delicious breakfast! Pretty good for being next to a hotel. Pretty place, calm music and good service. Coffee could be stronger :-)

  • Lisa C.

Excellent coffee, really nice young staff and a perfect quick breakfast before starting on the town. We used this to our advantage while travelling here for Jazz Fest and not wanting to waste a ton of time in the morning. The coffee in the rooms is beyond putrid dishwater so having good coffee close was a nice perk.

  • Anna W.

Absolutely excellent breakfast. So many spots in the French Quarter are over priced or under-quality. Cafe Conti delivered on all 4 breakfast dishes - eggs Benny of the day, grits of the day (shrimp, mushrooms, goat cheese blended in to make them super creamy & a sunnyside egg), croissant sandwich & eggs po' boy). All absolutely delicious and we are a little food snobby ;). Great coffee and great service. Thank you!

Went for brunch with party of 7, including a 2 year old. Called ahead to check, they said 10 minute wait, and we had no trouble getting a table at 10am on a Saturday. Food was fantastic with one exception. A friend ordered the apple cinnamon crepe, and it was just lame mush. 3 of us tried it and agreed it should be taken off the menu. That said, the rest of us loved our food. Apricot bacon crepe was super. Shrimp and grits well above average. My wife was ecstatic about her Aztec spiced mocha. Prices were reasonable. Environment was pleasant. Service was quick, not particularly warm, but good. Overall a solid French Quarter brunch experience. Just stay away from the apple crepe.

The grits at Cafe Conti are better than any ever made by my grandmothers, grandfathers, mother or me. These are unequivocally the creamiest most savory grits ever to grace these lips.

The best breakfast we had all weekend in New Orleans!

Dude, seriously. You have to eat here for breakfast. The benedict of the day was amazing and the mocha coffee was fantastic.

Unsuspecting place, quiet, small, but wow the food is yummy! We got the chicken hash and the creamed spinach, bacon gruyere, egg crepe - they were fantastic!! Totally with coming here.

I m back to finish this draft after one year, as it is a really good tiny place impressed me. Based on its price, the quality of food is unbeatable. Soft crepes with lots of strawberries, Nutella, and bananas. Cloud-soft whipping cream. Full-size and fresh sides. The only weak point is it close after 3 pm, but based on this, it is always pretty quiet and you can enjoy a even semi-private environment for a moment.

Excellent breakfast next to the Prince Conti Hotel. I loved the omelet with bacon and cheese. The grits are wonderful as well as the crapes with strawberry. The whole family likes it here for breakfast - twice visited now.

Cafe Conti was an amazing find! Warm, homey and most importantly, the food is frickin' AWESOME! We went on a friends suggestion and since it wasn't too far from where we were staying, we decided to check it out. It is tucked just outside the Prince Conti Hotel across the hotels parking garage. I had the Benedict of the day. As a lover of all things Hollandaise, I never miss an opportunity to check it out, anywhere. This was outstanding! Superb! Fantastique!!! It was eggs Benedict with bacon, onions, mushrooms and a load of heavenly fresh roasted garlic on a baguette. It came with a side of grits. As a born and raised NYer I am not much of a grits person but I can now proudly shout "I've seen the light"! I would jump in front of a bus for my 2 year old but have to say I shivered a little when she started eating my grits. They could serve this dish in Heaven! Really, really good. I am already campaigning to go back there tomorrow for breakfast! Our kids split a ham and cheese omelette and we thought they accidentally gave us 2 orders because the waiter brought over 2 plates with a huge crepe on each one but it turns out the portion was that generous! And he was that thoughtful! They used real ham, (not the deli kind I use). The sauce was savory and delicious. The crepes tender and the perfect vehicle for this masterful creation. Truly wonderful! My wife had the apple crepe which was excellent too. They use all fresh ingredients and the difference us obvious. It is a bit pricey for breakfast ($50 with tax and tip) but I would happily go there and have my major meal of the day be that one. Even the coffee was better than usual. Heed my words, do not miss this place if you are in New Orleans. They are only open till 3pm so be sure and set your alarm i. You need to! This is one reason I just might return to NOLA someday.

Worst service ever. Our waitress seemed to have woken up on the wrong side of the bed. She barely acknowledged us, didn't go over the specials, didn't bring a few of us our coffee and even after my friend told her she was in a rush, made no obvious effort to speed up the process. A few minutes after our food came and before we were done eating she brought the check over and seemed eager to have us pay the bill. The food was good but in this case the poor service overshadowed the food.

We stayed at the Prince Continue hotel and this restaurant is next door. The food was awesome and they had a nice variety to choose from. We had a friatta, crepes and the best grits I've ever eaten. The portions are enough to share. Definitely a must go. :-)

The tiny little cafe felt like a piece of Paris stuck in the Crescent City. Even the floors scream Paris. The food was really good and so was the cafe of the day. Service was seriously slow , so if you're in rush this is prob not the place to go.

Great experience! The service was great! The portions were quite large. We had the Benedict special of the day, cheese plate and the Lox bagel. Everything was delicious. Cozy place!

Came here with my family of 5 and we were all very pleased. The atmosphere was great for family's or smaller parties. The decorations were also very beautiful and fancy. The food order took a little long but it is understandable because it is a small place and we were a larger party, this was also warned to us by the waitress which we appreciated. When the food came the presentation was beautiful and it tasted even better! Definitely recommend the crepes, lox&bagels and the chicken hash! Would definitely recommend if you are in the area.

We have breakfast twice this trip to NOLA and will probably have it for our last breakfast here tomorrow. The place is small and quaint. It feels clean and quiet which is a nice change from the crazy on Bourbon Street. We have fallen in love with the Nutella and Banana creeps. Huge serving, delicious is an understatement, and the price is fantastic. Add to the equation that the service is friendly. We are SOLD!!

  • Janine D.

Wonderful staff, great coffee, and the most excellent food. This place is tucked away just off Bourbon Street and is a complete gem. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu, but I almost always get whatever is on special. Absolutely delicious, and generous portions.

  • Greg B.

This is the place to go if you want to avoid the popular tourist assembly line restaurants that have lines out the door and ok food. Café Conti is a refreshingly small, quiet European-like one off oasis right in the middle of the bustling French Quarter. A delicious selection of breakfast/brunch/lunch items including the greatest grits bowl ever, unique Benedicts and a nice variety of savory and sweet crepes. Try the salted caramel latte.

The food was delicious! Had the special of the day-ham, caramelized onion and apple eggs benedict and couldn't stop eating. Would take a pic a pick but nothing left on the plate!

We stopped in for breakfast and were pleasantly surprised! Fresh squeezed orange juice was fantastic, not too much pulp. The Benedict of the day, mushroom and creamed spinach was delicious, as was the breakfast croissant. The service was attentive and extremely fast. Great option for a quick sit down in a small cafe setting.

Breakfast this morning was incredible. We split the cinnamon applesauce and toasted almond crepes. Kris had the eggs Benedict over grits cake with tomatoes and applewood smoked bacon and I had the ham and Swiss omelet, both served with sauteed potatoes and chives. Absolutely amazing. The sever was very helpful and described the dishes perfectly. Highly recommended. Worth finding at the ground floor of the Hotel Conti.

  • Ann I.

Went to Cafe Conti for breakfast, I thought it was a sit down and get served place but it turns out it is an order then sit down kind of place. The food was very flavorful, I had the Nutella and Banana Crepes with a side of fruit and my husband had the Breakfast PoBoy sandwich. Pretty large portions. My fruit unfortunately tasted like onions, I think somoeone forgot to wash the knife when cutting my fruit, that was the only down side. Very cute decor as well.

Eggcellent all around. Even opened early for me yesterday! This place is a hidden gem. We had breakfast here for five days. Each visit was a fine dining experience, and the price wasn't too bad either. This isn't a basic ham and egg joint. Think Fritatas, Crepes and great coffee. Service was always top notch, too.

Yum!!!! Cafe Mocha smooth & delicious. Benedict of the Day - full flavored & savory. These were just my selections, everyone at table was super satisfied with their choices. A bit off the beaten path, but well worth it!!!

Amazing little cafe tucked in right off Bourbon Street. Quiet and cozy with incredible food. Bacon, tomato and goat cheese frittata special was out of this world. A waitress brought an extra little tub of goat cheese just in case we didn't have enough in our skillet!

This is a small cafe right outside the Prince Conti Hotel. I went here for breakfast. The food is ordered at the counter and then brought out to your table. I tried their strawberry crepe which looked nice. I just wish it tasted as good as it looked. The crepe itself was very eggy and tough. It was wrapped with strawberries and what tasted like condensed milk. I also tried their omelet with ham, swiss cheese which was excellent.

Wow, what a pleasant surprise! . This is the second time I stayed at the Prince Conti hotel but never bothered to pay any attention to the cozy little cafe just by the hotel. There's just no other way to say it, I just took this cafe for granted after spending all this time online looking for the best of New Orleans this or that I have serendipity serving daily within a matter of steps from my bed. We didn't really have time to go very far from the hotel because we had to be ready to take our taxi to the airport and so we decided what the heck let's go have breakfast there. I'm a foodie and half of the fun I have visiting New Orleans is tasting all the delicious foods. That being said, I really get hesitant when people pair some more exotic ingredients with the traditional for fear someone might be trying to be creative for the sake of creativity but when it's done right it can be absolutely wonderful and they got it on the nose here. It was "oh-my-goodness" delicious. This was by far the best meal of the entire trip. My husband and I split the breakfast croissant and a savory crepe with brie and apricot and I had a latte. We saw some delicious sweet crepes on the menu and were going to have one for dessert but I could barely finish the food on my plate the portions were so generous. My breakfast croissant came with a side so I had the grits and figuring they would need some help I asked for cheese on top. In hindsight that was a mistake. I read the review by someone saying they were the best they had ever had but I'm southern born and raised and hold a high standard for grits and have just come to expect disappointment so I dismissed it. No no no! The best grits I have ever had in my entire life bar none! The cheese was a distraction but shame on me. Just get them exactly how they make them. Amazing! That's a hard adjective for grits to earn but they did it. This place is an everyday brunch and I gotta tell you I'm kicking myself for not having gone here sooner. Given that Bourbon Street entertains me until the wee wee hours of the AM I appreciate being able to sleep a little later than I normally would and wake up to a delicious breakfast. Had I known about this place I would have probably started out every morning with something here; just the best way to get started. Even the ambiance is perfect. Its just cozy enough to feel quaint and there was a reverence amongst the patrons as if you are in a library or church. My cell phone rang and I felt like the d-bag in a movie theater. It's actually quite pleasant given that there is no shortage of loud and thumping anywhere in the Quarter. Don't get me wrong, loud and thumping is what draws me to the Quarter but a little repose at breakfast can be delicious as well.

This was by far the very best breakfast I have ever had in Nola. From the staff to the specials it was a amazing experience. The food tasted wonderful and they let us customize what we wanted. The coffee~ a 3 cupper! Damn good eats!

Stopped in for breakfast with gf and her parents. I had grits bowl and absolutely loved it. Gf had the crepe with spinach eggs bacon, and the crepe dough itself wasn't very good. Tried the apricot Brie crepe and that was very tasty. I would love to return for the grits bowl

There's an unfortunate dearth of reliably decent breakfast spots in the Quarter so this place is an answered prayer. They've reopened with a new staff, updated menu and extended hours. This makes me ridiculously happy because most days I don't get out of bed before noon and they're now open until 3:00! The space is bright, airy and charming with ruby toile, ivory chateau chairs and coffee counter laden with glass-domed muffin displays. My beau ordered the Salad Niçoise and the presentation was perfect with boiled red potatoes, haricots verts (green beans!) and champagne vinaigrette. He fancies himself a budding oenophile, so he was pleased to find "French Wines of the Day" offered on the menu and enjoyed a white burgundy. I'm pretty sure he liked his meal because he said, "I could eat this every day." I had a double espresso and the Croissant Breakfast Sandwich - scrambled eggs, grilled ham, Swiss cheese and tomato between layers of buttery flaky goodness and a small mountain of Lyonnaise potatoes on the side. We meant to order a sweet crepe for dessert, but my dish was so filling, I took half of it to go, reheated in the oven and ate it in bed this morning! Délicieux.

By NOLA standards this place doesn't measure up. It is completely self service which is fine but something you should be aware of. The breakfast poboy was basic and bland. The place was empty and it took about 20 mins to get the sandwich out. There are definitely MUCH better choices close by.

What a pleasant surprise this place was! Great little breakfast restaurant tucked underneath the Prince Conti hotel in the French Quarter. Quick friendly counter service and good food. A colleague and I had coffees and split the sweet Lemon Curd Crepe (a little too sweet for my taste but good) and savory Creamed Spinach, Egg, Bacon and Gruyère Crepe (mmmmmm)

Ordered two cafe au laits today -- the barista handed me two empty cups and pointed to the coffee station in the corner. I said "ummm I ordered cafe au lait" and then he looked at me and said "oh, you want steamed milk?" YES, THAT'S WHAT A CAFE AU LAIT IS. And this happened in the French Quarter! Unreal. Oh, and the crepes were lukewarm at best, despite being two of four customers in the place. Bad second experience.

Tucked away right inside the left front windows of the Prince Conti Hotel in the French Quarter, just passed the narrow car entrance and flagged awning, sits a delightful breakfast nook that serves warm southern-style dishes every morning from 7am to noon. My wife and I took a little excursion for our 20th Anniversary and her Birthday this past weekend and made reservations at the hotel for some away time and relaxation in one of our favorite stomping grounds. As locals, we are always pleasantly surprised when we find places that we've passed hundreds of times, but never knew existed. This is that kind of place. There are less than twenty tables with a boothed-wall of seating and the small french-door and windowed cafe is decorated warmly with Napoleonic charm. We ate here twice and each time the wait staff was friendly, informative and eager to carry on fun conversations when engaged. The first morning we got the breakfast biscuit, served open-faced with scrambled egg, cheddar cheese and bacon and the ham and swiss crepe made with smoked ham, imported swiss, shallot herb butter and créme fraische. Each dish was executed well, but I did find my crepe to be a bit overcooked on the outside. The second morning, my wife got the breakfast biscuit again and I ventured into the Southern Benedict which is savory portion of two poached eggs served on top of southern greens, cheddar cornbread and smothered with tasso gravy. After my third bite of greens, I immediately asked the server who was cooking in the back, since I knew that it just had to be a local black cook. Sure enough, she giggled and said, "How did you know? you're right... that's Ms. Bobbi cookin'" Oh yeah! If I had more time I would have ordered just a bowl of greens and asked Ms. Bobbi to come out and have some coffee with us. These are the kind of dishes/items that make culinary adventures worthwhile for they send out a foodie-telegram of both ethnicity and history to all who will listen. If you are in the area and want to have a friendly, quick breakfast - I would enthusiastically recommend Cafe Conti as an a-traditional stop.

I tried Cafe Conti over Labor Day weekend. It is an out of the way place that both tourist and locals can easily find and enjoy. I had a goat cheese omelet that was extraordinary. My friend had a pate sandwich (OMG...it was so good!). The atmosphere is relaxing and comfortable.....very nice feel. It is counter order but the wait staff is always there to support you. I loved the place and will be back next time I am in town.

What a wonderful little breakfast cafe! I had a baguette with smoked salmon which was absolutely wonderful. The serving sizes are large, but not exceedingly so. The food is fantastic and very well presented. I highly suggest visiting this cozy cafe inside the Prince Conti Hotel. Come for the food and stay for the incredibly attractive staff -- especially the handsome chef in the back. Give him a wink for me!

Good food, slow service. Didn't want to eat at a chain for breakfast this morning and found the Conti Cafe, one of the few places near my hotel that serves breakfast. When I walked in, there were no employees in sight and I wasn't sure how to get service. The valet from the associated hotel helped by fetching the waitress from the kitchen. I ordered coffee and she brought the cup and settings but never brought the coffee until I asked her when my meal arrived (the next time I saw her). The Southern Benedict (served on cornbread with a tasso sauce) was exactly what I was looking for and quite flavorful, served in a moderately sized portion. After I was done and the waitress brought my check, it took another 15 minutes for her to collect it. To her credit, she was quite pleasant. Restaurant was clean, quiet, and well lit. Overall, I found this 14 table restaurant worthwhile for the food, though the service was aggravating. No conflicts of interest to disclose.

Get some!!!

Wonderful staff, great coffee, and the most excellent food. This place is tucked away just off Bourbon Street and is a complete gem. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu, but I almost always get whatever is on special. Absolutely delicious, and generous portions.

Food was great. I split a chicken and mushroom crepe with my wife. To my surprise it was enough food for both of us.
